Approach
Start at the Greybeard View car park off of the Blue Ridge Parkway (mi. 363.4). From this parking area locate the Mountains-to-the-Sea-Trail at the south end of the parking area.
Route Description
From the Greybeard parking area, continue on the MST for a couple of mins. until the trail hits the parkway. Do not cross the parkway, rather follow the unanamed trail south along the ridge. There is a good unmaintained trail that heads to the summit from here.
Essential Gear
basic day hiking gear: raingear, sturdy trail shoes lightweight clothing.
GO LITE gear is highly recommended.
