Approach
If You stay in Zakopane You start the trip at parking lot at Palenica Bialczanska where the popular road to Morskie Oko lake begins .
The distance between Zakopane and Palenica is 25 km ,You can easily get there taking one of numerous bus and mini-bus connections
at Zakopane's bus station .
3 km walk to the bridge over beatiful Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza waterfalls and then just behind the bridge turn right into Roztoki Valley .
The marked route will lead You through forests to the threshold of Five Polish Lakes' Valley lying above .
On the threshold huge attraction - the greatest waterfall of Tatra Mountains and Poland - Wielka Siklawa (1580-1620 m asl) about 70 metres high .

There are 2 possibilities of climbing the threshold by marked routes following :
Green Marks (near Siklawa waterfall)
Black Marks (steep walk-up straightforward to the chalet)
Palenica Bialczanska(990) – Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza waterfalls(1100)

Route Description
After leaving Five Polish Lakes' chalet(1670) follow green marks to the place called Nowe Solnisko above the northern shore of Wielki Staw (Great Lake)
(1.3 km ,1/4 h) . At the altitude of 1718 m we turn left onto black marked route and wander through high mountain meadows .
At the altitude of about 1800 m we start climbing up along the Szeroki Zleb (Wide Gully) . The long walk-up is quite monotonous but the views become
more and more extensive and impressive .
After passing some rocks we traverse the gully and turn left near the ridge following now black and red marks of Orla Perc (Eagles' Path) route
reaching the main summit of Kozi Wierch(2291) in a few moments time .
One of the greatest summit panoramas in Tatras .

Essential Gear
In the summer conditions : high mountain tourist equipment ( solid boots ,waterproofs etc.)
In winter when there is no avalanche danger on the walk-up section : at least ice axe and crampons
