Approach

(1) Approach cross country from the Mono Pass Trail trailhead. Head east cross country for about 3 miles to the saddle between Mt Dana and Mt Gibbs. The first mile or so will be through forest.

(2) To do as a loop including Mt Dana, from the top of Mt Dana descend the south face to the saddle with Mt Gibbs. Alternatively, reverse the directions here to do Mt Gibbs first and then go up Mt Dana

Route Description

From the saddle with Mt Dana head south along a gentle slope. Follow the ridge line as it turns southwest and becomes steeper. Scramble up class 3 rock to the top.

Essential Gear

None.
