Approach

The Italian normal route to reach West Lyskamm starts from Refuge Quintino Sella (75 places - www.rifugioquintinosella.com).

you reach the refuge:

By car on the highway Milan-Aosta, exit Pont-Saint Martin. Follow the signals to Gressoney and then to Staffal (where starts the cable-car).

By two parts of cable-car you arrive until 2734 meters to "Colle della Bettaforca": from here follow the path on a moraine and (presence of snow in the path). In case of bad wheather be carefull (!!) because is easy to loose the path.

The last part of the path is on a ridge (exposed but with a big rope and two wood-bridge). In about 3 hours and half you arrive to the refuge, situated at the begin of the glacier, 3500 meters).
