ApproachLeave from Refugio de Estos, keep NE following the river untill you get to a small lake on a plain. The lake is usually frozen and covered during winter.
Route DescriptionPlease refer to the attached pictures. Once arrived at the lake, head for the east side of the mountain. Take the couloir between Gourgs Blanc and Pic Arnaud (the prominent peak of granite on the right side in the first picture below). Once crossed the key passage (about 45% gradient, snow and ice in winter) you are on the col, the summit is then just at 20 minutes of easy scramble. GPS coordinates of the peak: 42.70178N, 0.47845E.
Essential GearIn winter: crampons and ice axe. In summer it is an easy scramble, some rope loops might be necessary to secure a beginners or a scared climber in a couple of points.
