Approach
Take the main highway on the west coast of St Lucia to the town of Fond Gens Libre at the base of Gros Piton. Gros Piton is halfway between Soufriere and Choiseul.
Route Description
The route to the top is 2 miles long and can take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours one-way. It starts off gently and then steeply climbs to the summit. The trail consists of loose rock and passes through all four vegetation types from dry coastal forest to elfin woodland or cloud forest. At about halfway and from the summit you will be rewarded with excellent views of Petit Piton.
Essential Gear
No gear is necessary. Just make sure you have water and a snack.
