Getting There

Go to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo/Will Roger's Shrine near the Broadmoor. You can either park at the Shrine gate if you're a seasoned hiker, or you can drive through the gate to the Shrine. From the shrine you must walk because the paved road turns to dirt and there's a large sign saying "no cars past this point."

Route Description

Paved road for first 2.15 miles to Will Roger's Shrine, dirt road after that. Mostly switchbacks.

Essential Gear

Water, coat in Winter; shorts and T-shirt in Summer.
