Route Description

From the parking spot, walk past the trail marker and up the grassy Corral Canyon. Walk perhaps a half-mile up the gradual slope to a fork in the drainage just below Point 8955. Turn right here, and start climbing up the drainage. You will see some ribbon markers every now and then, and there is a faint path in places. Climb up the drainage to a saddle at 9,440’. There is a forest road here. It’s not shown on the topo map, but it's Forest Road 64. At the saddle, turn right, and climb up the slope to the forested summit, where there are no views. If you want to start from Forest Road 64, it’s only about a 10-minute hike.

Hiking Distance: About 2.5 miles round trip.
Elevation Gain: 1,100’.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second unanmed highpoint is on Benson Ridge, and has an interpolated elevation of 9,700'. From NM 6563, turn onto Forest Road 223 at this location. Drive about 2.5 miles until you reach this point. Climb up easy slopes a few hundred yards to reach the highpoint. The hike only takes a few minutes.
