Route DescriptionFrom the parking area described in the "Getting There" section, follow the Sierra Vista trail south into the desert. Another option is to head straight towards the rocky ridge that heads up and E - SE. There is no defined trail up Bishop Cap but eventually you will want to reach the ridge that connects Bishop Cap to Pyramid Peak (the peak just to the north of Bishop Cap). Once on this ridge follow it south until you reach immediate vicinity of Bishop Cap. You'll want to ascend the Cap starting at the NE corner and choosing a line the meanders through the broken cliff bands. The ideal route isn't exposed, but may require the use of hands in a few places. At the top of the peak you'll find an old aircraft beacon.
