How to reach the start of the pathYou have to reach Zinal, situated in Val d'Anniviers:
BY CAR
A9 motorway to Sierre-est, then follow the road signposted Val d'Anniviers, Vissoie, Ayer-Zinal. The access roads are cleared all year round. Free parking in all the municipality of Ayer.
BY TRAIN
to Sierre railwaystation then by postal bus Sierre-Zinal (Change in Vissoie)
BY PLANE: To Geneva International Airport, then by train, Geneva-Sierre, then by postal bus, Sierre-Zinal OR to Sion Civil Airport, then by train Sion-Sierre, then by postal bus Sierre-Zinal.How to reach the refugeTIME: 4 hours and half
DIFFICULTY: easy
METERS FROM THE START TO THE REFUGE: 1600 meters
You can leave your car at the small car park located off the road in the centre of Zinal (1640 meters). You have to climb the east side of the valley. The path is well marked with signal red and white. After a initial part on the forest you reach coumbtanna (grasslands at 2560 meters). From here the path become a gravel and you begin to see the refuge on a top of some rocks. You have to do a long traverse (snow in some part) that, after a short and easy part of rocks, you reach Cabane de Tracuit, 3275 meters, situated on the pass between the Turtmannan abd Anniviers valley.

The glacier begin at few minutes from the refuge and, the initial part, is a flat traverse. Than, you turn right and climb the mountain in peak direction. A last part is ripid (40-45°) but without technical difficulties. From the peak you can admire many mountains of the Couronne imperial (Dent Blanche, Zinalrothorn, Weisshorn, Obergabelhorn) and Monte Rosa, Mont Blanc, Geneve Lake...
