Overview CCC Falls, a Joe's Valley classic, often has several groups jockeying for its moderate ice. Its well deserved popularity is due to a sub-5 minute approach, easily protectable ice, and lack of sustained climbing. Certainly a must do for any Joe's Valley visit, it is also a great climb to solo as well, especially with a walk off provided by the CCC summer trail.
Getting There This Climb resides on the northeast edge of the reservior, just south of the small housing community there. There is a pullout on the lake/west side of the road at Mile Mark 3.6, and the CCC trail is on the opposite (cliff/east) side of the road. Take the trail 70 meters, and veer left into the creekbed that leads directly to the climb (This trail is the descent route if not rapping the falls). Dave Black says that the north edge of the creekbed is the way to get in thar.
Route DescriptionP1 18 meters of WI3 steeps and steps lead to a flat creek for the first belay. There are trees and bolts for anchors and rap in a corner(left).
