OverviewSlateford Falls is a WI2 water fall located in eastern Pennsylvania. It is the central feature in the Slateford Quarry and is probably the most climbed route in the Quarry. The falls are just under 20 meters high and makes for a great place to introduce someone to ice climbing.
Getting ThereAfter following the approach directions on the Slateford Quarry page, walk to the back of the U. The falls cant be missed.
Stay to the right side of the main pool of the falls. It usually freezes first.Route DescriptionStarting from the right side of the falls, climb directly up to the top.
Rappel from trees on climbers right, or walk off to the right.
Essential GearStandard Ice rack may be used based on leaders comfort. Route is easy enough to solo. Images
