Overview
Demanding marked and secured mountain-hiking path* (2,5 to 3h).
In its exposed parts the path is secured with metal cables and pegs, wooden footboards and ladders.
This route, other than leading us to the famous Czech Hut (Ceska koca) offers us magnificent views of the Ravenska Kocna valley, as well a complete panorama in the beginning, as stunning views of the Wall and plunging views of the right bank towards the end of the route.
The route starts at the Jezersko lake (Plansarsko Jezero), crosses long and flat meadows, climbs forested front range hills and continues along the upper left bank.
The Slovene Alpine Association (PZS) maintains the marked and secured paths throughout Slovenia, and in fact, we do not need any description of the paths (a map is in general a good idea, so as to keep track of which path we are on!). Well visible signposts and red and white blazes guide us all along the way (in both directions). Basically consider alpine hiking in this form: using marked paths and sticking to them, which safely brings to and back.
*Throughout Slovenia the marked and secured mountain-hiking paths are categorized in: mountain-hiking path (planinska pot), demanding mountain-hiking path (zahtevna planinska pot), very demanding mountain-hiking path (zelo zahtevna planinska pot).

Between Kranj(Slo) and Voelkermarkt(Aus), this road desserves the Kokra trailhead, the Jezersko trailhead(s), and the Vellach trailhead (the Vellach trailhead is along the Austrian road 82).
Also check out the Getting There section on the Range page.
Route DescriptionThe bus stop Jezersko Jezero (Jezersko lake, alt. ca. 900m) is more than 1 km above the village on road 210. From here a smaller asfalted road leads (due SE) into the valley (Ravenska kocna Valley). The lake (Plansarsko jezero) is soon attained, as well as a guesthouse (drinks, meals). To the right of the lake the asfalted route continues into the valley, and the red and white blazes are allready apparent.
At the Ancelj ranch (the winter "trailhead"), the macadam road starts, crossing the flat meadows of Ravenska kocna. Circa 3 km from the bus stop, the road splits and a sign post for Ceska Koca guides us to the right (the main road continues towards the lower station of the cargo cableway for both the Kranjska and the Ceska huts).
Our trail soon turns into a steep winding path through the forest, finally arriving at the Stular former pasture (alt. 1270m).
After the meadow, our path again leads up forested slopes and soon a marked path from the cargo cable lower station (Tovorna Zicnica) comes in from the left. At some turns of our path, belvederes are somewhat arranged, which permit vistas - f.i. of the Babas on the opposite bank of the Ravenska Koca valley.
We soon catch up with, and join, the route coming (right hand) from the neighbouring Makekova Kocna valley (see the Jezersko (village) to Ceska Koca route). The marked, signposted, secured, and now quite exposed path continues along the upper left bank, and we are most attracted by the left hand views, from the Babas to the Ledine (Vadine) terrace and to the immense wall going from the Rinkas to Dolgi Hrbet.
We traverse below Jezerska Kocna's NE face, and suddenly discover the Ceska Koca Hut, on the flat Spodnje Ravni terrace.
