Route Description

The upper two-thirds of the South Slope

After crossing the road (careful: cars go fast and it isn't easy to see down the slope) find the trail that goes through the brush. The first few feet are steep then the trail heads into the trees. After a short time in the trees the trails comes back out and continues up the slope towards the top. The majority of the route can be seen from the first meadow after the trees but it is a bit of a false summit. The trail will stay on the western border between the open field and the trees. There is a steady increase in the grade all the way to the false summit. There is some loose rock which does not pose a problem on the way up but can be tricky when decsending. At the false summit there is some large equipment that you will pass. At this point there is not much further to the summit.
