It was a hot day (95). The views from the top were great. Ryan Mountain is located in the center of Joshua Tree so you can see a lot of the park from the summit.

Nice Walk
Almost made it for sunrise, but not quite. I was surprised I didn't see anyone else going up or down on a Saturday morning.
Gotta do this as a night hike from Sheep Pass some time.

Last of 4 peaks ascended after Monument Mtn, Pinto Mtn HPs (with Bob Burd and crew) and Malapais Hill. Beautiful December day.

The Day Of The Snake
Nice and quick day hike. The highlight was seeing the three-foot Speckled Rattler next to the trail. Great view!

Stairmaster!
Taking this short "stairmaster" hike to the top gives you an amazing 360 degree view. A must hike while visiting Joshua Tree.

25 years later
Summit again with my son Ryan, his second time here. His first time was 25 years ago as a baby. Needless to say, this time he was able to do it under his own power! Accompanied by his girl friend Amanda (her first peak!) and my wife of 27 years, Ryan's mother Cinda.

Enjoyable!
I tried hiking to the summit of Mt. Ryan before my hip replacement, I reached wide area before the summit, decided I had better wait for my dh to summit if I was going to hike back to the parking lot under my own power. I was really hurting! So I was glad to have a second chance; this time (almost two years post hip replacement) the hike felt easy and was quite enjoyable!

Via the main trail in the rain. Cloud cover ruined the views from the summit. Still a fun outing.
