| We did this as a night hike from the campground at Sheep's Pass. Really neat way to summit this little mountian and viewing the halo lighting of the Coachella Valley. | |

| This was my first hike in southern California after moving there in August 1999. I hiked up Ryan Mountain on a very hot day and saw several equally hot women on the trail all hiking solo. As this was my first hike in the region, I couldn't help but wonder if all the regional trails would be populated by gorgeous women. This turned out to be a hasty generalization. | |

| After going to a conference over the weekend in San Diego, I headed out to the country for a few days. I wanted to visit Joshua Tree, and Ryan Mountain seemed like a good peak to climb in the process. It was hot, but the views were worth it! | |
