SPers Fred and Moni and Vern on top of Mount Henkel during a climb in winter conditions. I was thrilled to get pictures of this climb from Fred, to see Vern so elated to be in the mountains he loved so passionately. I introduced them through SummitPost, and they became great friends. I knew this would mean Vern would have partners in grizzly country, and highly experienced ones at that. Thanks Fred and Moni for being Vernon's friend!

Voted 10/10 | Without you I would never have known these three. Because of you my life has forever been enhanced for having met and climbed with all of them. My only regret is that I had so little opportunity to enjoy the mountains with Vernon. Or sit and enjoy his vast classical CD collection together.
