Walk Down
A fun hike down. I think it took me about 4 hours. I swam in the ocean when I got there and then hiked up to an old shattered castle up on the cliffs.

Samaria Gorge
A unique walk that is both beautiful and full of local history but marred by the crowds. My wife and I hiked this with about 100 other people on a holiday to Crete in 2001.

The landscape is indeed very beautiful, but there are way too many people around. I walked in lines the whole day, making it very difficult to find my own pace. One can see that many of the visitors never go hiking, and that they were talked into a trip that is too long and strenuous for them. But don't worry, for any normal fit person it is a nice walk without any problems.
It is very recommendable to avoid the crowds and start very early in the morning, otherwise it gets really annoying.
