| Awesome weather and small patches of easily navigable snow made for a great day. Springs are drying up fast.....bring water! | ||

| skotty | No snow? ![]() Date Climbed: Apr 1, 2007 | |
| The backcountry report says the trail is free of snow except for some patchy areas on the Forsee Creek Trail. Must have been a wild guess by forestry service because we spent a hell of a lot of time struggling trhough knee to hip deep snow for clos to a mile on our way up. Nevertheless, it was worthwhile. | ||

| One of four peaks that day. Met people coming up from Angelus Oaks, talked GPS with them for a couple of minutes. | ||

| Rangers closed down Vivian Creek to San Gorgonio. I must thanked them because I went on this beautiful trail instead. It was the first storm of the season, found strong winds and really cold temps (for Southern California) on the trail. The weather cleared up once I reached the peak and treated to a wonderful new blanket of snow and an awesome view. | ||

| 8-10 inches of snow made this interesting.I had all the gear, everything started ok, but just didn't feel that great after 4 miles and figured it smart to not "go epic" and just enjoy a perfect day in the mountains with a good friend. Plus, this gives me another new 'revenge' mission! | ||

| Peak 9 of 9. The last person I saw was at camp that morning and the next person wasn't until I was back in town that afternoon. The unmaintained part of the Momyer Creek trail is very overgrown--bring long pants for sure. | ||

| My second trip up was more successful than the first, much less snow than May. Completed the 9 peaks traverse, views are nice at this end. | ||

| Augie Medina | San Bernardino East Date Climbed: July 1, 2006 ![]() | |
| Did this peak as part of a four peak traverse (the others were Shields, Anderson, and San Bernardino Pk East). While the lowlands baked in 100+ degree heat, we enjoyed 75 degree weather above the Forsee Creek Trailhead. We visited the Washington Monument, a surveying landmark. We got to this peak via the Forsee Creek Trailhead. We returned through Johns Meadow and enjoyed immensely the beautiful wildflowers and the springs and crisp, cool water (we didn't filter) that Forsee Creek afforded. | ||

| 395guy | San Bernardino mtns traverse ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 1, 2006 | |
| San Bernadino Peak was the last peak I bagged on my 26-mile trek across the San Bernadino mtns on Sat, July 1, 2006. I went from Vivian Creek TH to San G, then from San G across to San Bernadino, then from San B to Angelus Oaks TH, then I biked back to the Vivian Creek TH. 36 mile day: 8 miles up, 10 miles across, 8 miles down, 10 miles biking. I did this 36-mile hiking/biking circuit in 2003 also. In 2003, I actually bagged all 9 peaks. Today, I was only concerned about hiking 26-miles in thin air and only bagged three (San G, San B East, San B). Great day. You can read my trip report (including an encounter with a bear) on the San Gorgonio page. BTW, yes, I got strange looks when others on the peak and trail asked me where I had started hiking and I replied Vivian Creek. | ||

| thebeave7 | Snowy Summit ![]() Date Climbed: May 12, 2006 | |
| Climbed via the Angelus Oak trail then took the direct ridge from 9000ft bypassing the Wash Monument. Snow was solid and soft starting at 8900ft. No gear needed, though an axe may have been comforting at times. | ||
