Bit of snow in late December

Mt Wilson Roundup
Peak 3 of 7 in the Mt Wilson area. Really nice views in all directions, but watch out for the Poodle Dog Bush. LOTS of it!!

...the road to Disappointment is paved....
From the 2N52 trailhead to the top of Mount Disappointment, all the way over to Mount Markham, then Mount Lowe. Then back across Bear Canyon to the top of San Gabriel Peak. Four peaks, 12 miles and 3,350 feet of elevation gain.

Unusually clear day for May
Hiked via Eaton Saddle, up and down in about 2 hours. They were filming a "zombie" movie nearby.
Toward the top, the poodle-dog brush grew thick and encroached onto the trail in spots. Afterward, I hiked to the saddle between Markham and Lowe, but not to the tops. Warm day, with views crystal clear due to the Santa Anas blowing today.

incredible 360
Combined with a super hike of Disappointment, Lowe, Echo, and Inspiration Point via Lake Ave. Amazing views at the top that day, but a whole TON of honey bees buzzing around. Great view of Strawberry Peak and surrounding mountains. It's best to combine this with Mt Disappointment, as it is literally less than a half mile extra to tag both.

From Near Red Box
Hiked up the San Gabriel Trail to the summit. Great views and a nice bench to rest on. Continued on to Markham, Lowe, Disappointment, and Deception. Then back down paved road to car.
