| San Gorgonio Mountain was the first 11,000-foot peak that I climbed. For my 13th birthday present, my father, 11-year old brother, and I climbed San Gorgonio from Dollar Lake campground. We had a 15-minute USGS topographic map as our only guide to the trail, but no description of the route or water supplies. It was a great adventure for a boy from Pasadena. A month later, we also climbed Mount Whitney. | |

| Summited may 1st in 5 hours via vivian creek. After halfway camp took mountaineering route instead of switch backs. Great day of hiking but weather turned on us quick once on the summit. 30 mph gust of Ice strorm and fog made for a scary decent of the first thousand feet back towards high creek where the weather let up. Good day hike right now, trail mostly cleared of snow, few patches after south col. | |

| After living in Southern California for 18 years, I finally got up to the summit of San G. Me and Omar took the South Fork Trail up to Dollar Lake Saddle and climbed a couloir up the north face of Charlton, then traversed Charlton down to Little Charlton and then took the North Ridge to Jepson and then made it over to San G. It was a really really long day. We started at 6:45 and got back at 9:30. It was BRUTAL, but amazing! | |

| A great & exhausting dayhike! Started at 7.05 (after everyone who summited that day), summiting at 13.14. Took off at 14.19, arriving back at the car at 18.11. Only had to put on crampons during one short section right after High Creek, in icy gully after lost the 'trail,' & didn't end up using snowshoes. Went up Vivian Creek. Snow significantly lengthened the endeavor, but made it much more of a 'mountaineering' experience (also made it much more beautiful!). A great introduction to the area- I want to do more around here now! The extremely helpful ranger (hooked me up with everything I needed as I inquired ~20 min AFTER he'd closed- started driving at 9.25 from SF, hauled ass, got to ranger station at 16.35, 5 minutes after they'd closed!), seemingly unfounded (suicide or homicide) area closure, Christian camp near TH filled with kids, & the 20 or so SD SAR members training there made the experience that much more memorable! | |

| Summited on 1/7 snow was soft during the day, snowshoes a must one day summit was very difficult plan on staying the night somewhere on your way back down only 2 tracks going up from vivian creek trail to summit amazing views and conditions improving over next weeks good trip but even with training im still sore bring sunscreen and chapstick! wind is intense on summit. | |

| Leaving on Jan 7th 2009 for summit via vivian. this will be my 7th summit in 10 years if we reach the top. second attempt in winter, last year made it just above high creek when the weather took a turn. looks like clear skies. gonna try to summit in one day and come back down camp at highcreek and out on the 8th. everyone have a great season! | |

| Tried to dayhike it via Vivian Creek. I was with a friend who was a little slow and I had a curfew of being back at the trailhead at dark, so we ran short on time. Very cold at tree line with plenty of snow above 9500ft. | |
