San Jacinto Peak 10,834'

San Jacinto Peak 10,834'

This scarp rises over 10,000' in only 5 miles. One of the more serious upthrusts in the lower 48. From my meager camping spot in Coachella Valley. Dec 2 '13

San Jacinto Peak

That's a great peak, I've Hiked it many of times during the summer with and without friends. I usually start from Humber park. Would like to hike it in the dead of winter with all that snow covering the trail, makes it almost impossible.

Re: San Jacinto Peak

Good stuff!
I bagged it on the winter solstice in '99. It was actually still snow free. But within a few days the winter storms arrived.
