Poor weather  Sucess!

Did the tram shoe in less than ideal weather. Couldn't see anything from the summit. Still good fun and a very impressive mountain especially from the north and east

Cactus to Cloud  Sucess!

Did Cactus to Cloud with other 10 hikers.
Last 1,500 ft to the peak was covered with snow. And we didn't have snowshoes nor crampons, but made it.
I hiked down all the way back to the trailhead, but everybodyelse took the cable car.
Total of 26 miles and 11,800 ft elevation gain. Took 15 hours including big lunch break at cable car station and peak.

winter storm funtime  Sucess!

Climbed solo in winter storm from Idyllwild, a fun mountain. Every tree, rock and bush was encased in ice above 8,000! Don't be caught beneath a pine tree covered in ice when the wind blows!

A solid mountain  Sucess!

Mount San Jacinto is very impressive, and definitely one of my favorite mountains in South California. The rocky North and East Faces rise sharply above the desert floor, while the South and West Faces rise more gradually from the valley. A nice pine forest covers most of the massif, along with a multitude of amazing granite boulders and spires scattered across ridges, peaks, and just about everywhere on the mountain.
Have done Round Valley from Tram in December and Fuller Ridge in September.

Deer Springs Trail  Sucess!

It's a close call between this one and Devil's Slide as to which I like better. Deer Springs is less steep but more sloggy. Seems much quieter on Deer Springs, especially at lower altitudes before the intersections. Lots of falling water up near Marion is also a beautiful plus, but the views on Slide might be superior. Just about exactly 8 hours of hiking plus 30 mins of breaks. Surprised a rattlesnake on the trail about a mile before the Strawberry campground.
