Marion Mountain Trail  Sucess!

Third time up top--did Cactus to Clouds twice before. Marion Mtn is the shortes/steepest route to the top. TERRIBLE mosquitos at the trailhead for about a mile! Yeah, it's steep, but fast. Was up in 2.5 hours. Beautiful day--all was great until a guy smashed into my Jeep on the 10 on the drive home!

SoCal HP Extravaganza  Sucess!

4th SoCal HP. Nice sierra-like enviroment. Hiked from the tram, stopping at Cornell along the way. Smog and clouds obscured the views.

Done every route several times except Cactus to Clouds. No thank you on that one, I am not a masochist. Congrats to you if you are.

Great local hike!  Sucess!

Living in Long Beach and working what seems like every minute of the week, its hard to get away for good summits. San Jacinto is a beatiful peak only a couple hours away. Great elevation and exposure on the peak. Good training hike from from the west side without the tram.

Marion Mountain Trail  Sucess!

My first time climbing Mt. San Jacinto. It was a training hike for my upcoming Mt. Whitney trek and for the 8000 meter challenge in September. The hike to the top took forever and by the end of the day it had kicked my butt. It was still alot of fun and a very beautiful hike.

Marion Mountain Trail  Sucess!

Busy day on the mountain, nice day out. Started out very temperate (low 70s) but ended up being VERY hot, probably in 90s on the trip down Marion Mountain Trail. Hazy but beautiful from the top.

California County highpoint #19 for me!

Hiked up after a night in Round Valley with my boys. Added Miller Peak on the way down. Beautiful day, a few people, and a little water left in the creek in Round Valley

Devil's Slide Trail

In the spring of 1984 I hiked to the summit on the Deer Springs Trail with my Chemistry/Climbing instructor and some fellow high school students. In the fall of 1984 we hiked it again from Devil's Slide Trail. I'd like to go back there soon and hike up it again. I really love this area.

main trail

one of the most dissapointing trips for me, started from the museum but had to turn back at around 5000' because of severe cramps and dehydration. the top of the tram still seemed like zillions of miles away, which i wasnt physically or mentally prepared to make. Someday, maybe far into the future, will i conquer the beast. As of now, i got to practice and get in shape for it.

Devil's Slide from Humber Park: 29 May 2006  Sucess!

Absolutely perfect conditions this Memorial Day. Summited in about 4 hours and had the added bonus of jabbing it up with a guy telling me I was wearing the wrong shoes. Added the fun scramble up Miller Peak. Despite the long trip from San Diego, well worth the day trip and need to spend more time up here for sure.

Snow Creek

Dayhiked Snow Creek with Rick Graham. Lots of brush, lots of scrambling, still plenty of snow. This route has it all. Quite a day.

I thought I signed this!  Sucess!

I thought I would have signed this register already, mainly because it is my favorite mountain! Did it only three times so far. Love this mountain.

Snow Creek  Sucess!

3rd time up for me on Snow Creek. Climbed with mdostby (Mike). We did the ascent over 2 days. Saturday 4/22/06 was the approach to our 5,900 feet camp. Next day we started up at ~ 6:30am. I waited an hour for Mike to come up to the 8,300 feet fork. Decided to take the Side Finish variation. I found good conditions (good neve) this time around. I summited at 12:03pm and waited for Mike there who summited by 2:30pm. Caught the tram down ($10) and then took a taxi ride from ClassicCab back to Snow Creek ($40). Except for the Bushwack section, I always enjoy this local alpine climb.

Snow Creek  Sucess!

Incrediable and exhausting climb of Snow Creek. Climbed with partner Miguel Forjan in near perfect conditions. A little soft near the top and on the hike out to the tram. Did the "side finish" variation. I have a renewed respect for San Jacinto after completing this route.

awesome camp at Strawberry Junction  Sucess!

We spent Labor Day weekend up on Jacinto. Camped at Strawberry Junction and the sunset views were incredible. Spent a while at the summit napping (feeling a little altitude sick too) and lusted for San Gorgonio, which seemed within throwing distance.
