With MD, our second attempt. Two years earlier we were thwarted by brutal winds, also during winter.

11hrs ctc. Spectacular views. Ice ax was very handy after dead man summit. Carried but did not end up using crampons and snow shoes.

Started at Minaret Vista, and made the summit in 2 hours 14 minutes. Tagged the higher of the Two Teats en route.

The views reward what is otherwise a nondescript peak. Tagged the west Teat along the way which has a class 3 summit block.

Great views along the entire ridge. Climbed the east Teat and then San Joaquin on a very windy day. Had champagne with a Sierra Club group on descent. Two days later hiked to Ediza Lake which had great views of San Joaquin.

Took the 4x4 road the first two miles to the end, then followed the trail to the summit, climbing the teet on the way. The hike was better than I expected, but far too sandy.

Stunning views here, this peak likely has the highest fantastic view to tedious slog ratios of any I have ever been on.

My wife and I got a break from the smoke, sort of, and hiked up San Joaquin from the Minaret Summit parking lot. Excellent views of the Ansel Adams Wilderness. We also bagged the lower "teet", which had one move that was probably like class 4. The hike to the teet took us about ~4 hours with breaks, the hike up to the summit of San Joaquin took another 15 minutes.

Date is something of a guess. I was working on a drill rig in the Mammoth area, and did this hike on my day off. I had seen the mountain on various hikes up the SW side of June Lake, and was almost tempted to go from the lake.

Did a ridge traverse from Agnew Pass starting with Carson Peak then on to San Joaquin Mt and finally Two Teats. Great views from each peak of the Ritter Range and the Sierra Crest from Rodgers to the Koip Peak area.

Great hike. Most of the Disneylanders are down in the Devil's Postpile Zoo(beautiful place, but too many people) We saw no one on this hike. Just the way I like it. Spectacular views of Banner and Ritter and the beautiful tarns below them.

Warm-up for Sierra Challenge 2005. (Happy Birthday, Mom!) Sadly, the classic Sierra Club register box exists no more. It apparently disappeared within the last 2 weeks. I shake my head in frustration as these boxes become more and more rare.
