San Juan (5843m) and Huantsán (6369m) | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |
... from high on Jatunmontepuncu to the NNW. The normal route on Nevado San Juan follows the WNW ridge, coming from the right. Looks dangerous to me! The cloud obscures where to access the ridge. The normal route on Nevado Huantsán, which is further away, also comes from the right. The serious difficulties begin on the steep ridge on the right hand side of the shaded triangle. From there, The route keeps following the connected ridges, culminating in the steep N ridge which is seen almost head on here. Who knows, maybe someday I can try it, if I'm in good shape and find a strong partner. 19 June 2011. | Image Type(s): Alpine Climbing, Scenery |
