About the Group
San Sebastiano / Tamer is less known mountain group in Dolomites and it lies between Civetta on NW and Talvena / Schiara on S. In my opinion it is one of the last peaceful places on Dolomites. Maybe the reason is that there is only one mountain hut (Rifugio Sommariva al Pramperet) if you don`t count road pass Duran. But if you don`t care where you sleep and if you have good sleeping bag, than there are no problems, you have more than enough bivouacs. On my last visit few days ago I slept in two of them: Malga la Foca and Casera Moschesin (in really bad condition). Others are: Casera de la Roa, Baita Angelini, Rifugio Sommariva (winter room of course) and Baita Folega (if you don`t care sleeping on the table).So if you want to be alone on the Dolomites this is the right place !
