Normal Route?

Is that the normal route on Santanoni?

Re: Normal Route?

Not even close. The normal route is a trail from the Upper Works TH, to a herdpath that ascends from Bradley Pond to "Times Square" (near the summit of Panther), to a herdpath that leads south to the summit (see my highlighted map photo at the bottom of the Overview section of the main mountain page). Some of the lands east and south of Santanoni that were once private have been purchased by the Nature Conservancy, and there is another herdpath that directly ascends the summit from the Bradley Pond trail that (to the best of my knowledge) is open to the public. This slide parallels the "new" herdpath. Check out this thread for more info: http://www.adkhighpeaks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3702 . A more commonly climbed slide (Ermine Brook) is located on the exact opposite side of the summit ridge (hence why this slide is named the Twin).
