Sas da Lech

Sas da Lech

Sas da Lech, one of the most prominent Sella peaks, seen from the village of Kolfuschg/Colfosco. Note: This photo was originally called "Le Meisules", but RenatoG has convinced me that it is actually a neighbouring peak, Sas da Lech (see the comments).

Nice photo, but...

...It seems to me that the main subject of the picture is Cima Pisciadù, not Meisules (half hidden on the right)...

Renato

Re: Nice photo, but...

No, it cannot be Cima Pisciadu because this is more to the east, and also has the Torre Pisciadu attached directly to its south east (left here) ridge. If you look at the current photo number 21 of the photos on my profile page, which shows a wide-angle photo of most of the Sella group from Kolfuschg, you will see two prominent peaks of which the leftmost (east-most) clearly is Cima Pisciadu, and the rightmost is the summit we have have in the present photo.

Re: Nice photo, but...

You are right, Ejnar. It isn't Cima Pisciadù. I look it better, and now I'm (almost) sure that the summit in your picture is Sass da Lech.
Sass da Lech is placed on the west of Cima Pisciadù and on the north-east of Mesules...
What do tou think about this identification?

Ciao

Re: Nice photo, but...

I won't deny that you may well be right, there are so many peaks on the Sella, that it is sometimes hard to keep track of them. I have had another look at my two maps. On the Tabacco 1: 50,000 there is only one name in that location, Le Meisules (2994 m), on the 1 : 25,000 there is Sas da Lech (2936 m) and a nameless point 2994 m that must be Le Meisules. It is a little hard to see whether the Sas da Lech would actually cover the Meisules from where I took the photo, but I guess it might. I can rename the picture of course, but what then with all the votes? I think I will just find out what happens with them before making any changes.
