Schlinig

At just over 1700 m, Schlinig offers an excellent trailhead to explore the south eastern part of the Sesvenna Group. You can get there by car or, in summer, by public transport. It's a bit gloomy, and I'm not sure yet what the day will bring. But sitting inside, waiting for better weather doesn't help, so I'm on my way to Monterodes (2361m). It's a minor summit, but being on the edge of the group it should offer excellent views - provided the clouds will have opened up a bit by the time I'm up there. The mountain behind Schlinig, with the summit in clouds, is Watles (2555m). A few years ago I was up there already, in better conditions, and since it's on the edge of the Sesvenna Group too, I had already enjoyed some fine views. 22 Aug 2014.
