See the eye?

See the green eye? It's in the center of the image, about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. The cat had dropped off the trail and appeared to be either heading down the mountain or circling behind me. Either way, it was freaky.

as in bobcat, mountain lion or a house cat?

Ferocious house cat

Pretty sure it was a female mountain lion, though possibly a particularly tough mountain house cat
