Senj is largest town on the coast of Velebit, actually Velebit begins above Senj. Behind is North Velebit, Zavizan group, at sunrise. Peak on the left is Snjeznik (1610m) while above the Nehaj fortress is Vucjak (1644m).

Reach Zavizan by a mountain-bike!

This beautiful scene has challenged me to try to reach the top of the mountain and return to Senj in one day. It was possible by a mountain bike and I have done it several times since 1993. I wanted to share the pleasure with other MTB bikers and I have convinced the local authorities to organize a race from Sv.Juraj at the seashore up to the top at 1594m. The record climbing time set this year was 1hr 57min. How fast can you make it?
