Sensitive Fern (Onoclea sensibilis)

Sensitive Fern (Onoclea sensibilis)

Sensitive fern is so named because it shrivels and browns quickly with frost. It is found in the eastern U.S. and Canada where it is very common in swamps, marshes, wet forests and stream banks. It also can be found extending to the midwest in some areas. Photo is from Minnesota. June 2000
