May 29th, 2006 - The peaks lining the west side of the Ruth Gorge jut up abruptly for some 5,000 vertical feet of sweeping granite faces, ice runnels, and snow flutings. The glacier in this area is reported to be nearly 3,000 ft thick, so if the glacier were gone, these would be the largest big-wall faces in the world!
