Views of the western Bighorns!
Short scramble up to the summit from FSR 11. Beautiful views of the Devils Canyon area and all the way to the Pryor range. Found some of the stone circles on the flanks which may be remnants of native american activity in the area.

My first Mountain
I climbed sheep mountain for the first time on a 50 mile backpack trip from the littlebighorn traihead. I`ve since climbed it numerous times from the Sheep Mountain road. An almost vertical snow field hangs on the Mountain into July. If you want to have fun and do something different take a ice axe and climb it. I did it last year with my boy and it was a lot of fun and good practice. I can see Sheep Mountain from my home in Hardin MT. So I can see waht the snow situation is on a clear day.

Perfect morning
Reached the top after driving the Sheep Mountain road all of the way to the Montana border and back - for such a short hike, this is one great view...
