Kendall Peak is located about 2 miles NE of Snoqualmie Pass. It rests on the eastern side of Commenwealth Basin and the northeastern side of the Kendall Peak Lakes. It has four, nearly equal in height summits, with the northern most peak being the highest at 5,784 feet.

Since access to Kendall Peak via the Pacific Crest Trail is easily manageable, it can be a popular and easy summit. A class 2 scramble from several different routes and about 5 miles one way can prove for a good day. Kendall can be readily climbed in combination with Red Mountain via the Red-Kendall saddle off the PCT.

Getting There

From Seattle, take I-90 E to Exit 52. Turn left at the stop and cross under the freeway. Take the spur road immediately on your right to the PCT and parking lot which is just up the road about a quarter mile.

Big parking lot and toilets are available.

Red Tape

A Northwest Forest Pass is required to park at the trailhead. Also, a free, self-serve permit is needed to enter the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. This permit can be obtained at the trailhead.

When To Climb

July through October.

Camping

Is allowed but you must follow the Alpine Lakes Wilderness regulations.
