Overview

Snoqualmie Mountain seen from The Tooth

Round Trip Distance: 5 miles
Elevation Gain: 3,200 ft
Summit: 6,278 ft

The trail on Snoqualmie Mountain (previously named Kate's Peak) starts at the road and goes on a mellow path for a few hundred yards and then climbs steeply on a creek bed, roots, and all other sorts of stuff, do not expect a trail, as this is a climbers path only. After one mile you get to the junction. The right fork leads to Guye Peak and Cave Ridge, main trail continues to the left. There is a sign on a tree that shows the way. There is one blow-down on this part of the trail, so ice axes and snowshoes can give you a hard time as you must crawel underneath it. In about 0.3 mile the trail crosses a creek near a 50 ft waterfall. In about 0.2 mile the trail enters an open slope (Cave Ridge) and climbs in switchbacks for another mile to the summit.

Getting There

I-90 To Snoqualmie Pass - so take exit 52 (West Summit). Make a left, go under I-90 and skip the first road on the right (which heads to the PCT parking lot). Take the second right and drive up past ski chalets till you get to the Alpental parking lot. Snow Lakes trailhead is there and easily visible, but the Snoqualmie Mtn/Guye Peak trailhead is down the road about 30 feet. Does not look like a trailhead at all.

Red Tape

NW Forest Pass Required at Trailhead
Big parking, water is at the creek, toilets available

When To Climb

May-December
Be careful when climbing in winter as the ski resort does blast the side of the mountain for avalanches. Check with the Ranger Stations for updated information.

Camping

No Backcountry Camping is allowed that I know of.
