Approach

You drive to Jezersko and then on the parking space on the meadow Ravenska Kocna. How to come on Jezersko read on the main page or on the page of Kamnik Alps group.

Route Description

From the parking place we see the signposts for the Velika Baba over the Jenkova planina (meadow) (1494m) so we go over that route. We are walking in the nice forest and on some forestry roads. Soon we reach the Jenkova planina (meadow). From this meadow we can reach over the marked route in half hour the nice mountain Goli vrh (1788m) that has beautiful view.

Then we start ascending in the steep forest in the SE direction on the NW ridge of Velika Baba. The route is airy and steep and somewhere we must climb a bit. The hardest part of the route is the ridge from the Mala Baba (2018m) to the Velika Baba (2127m). Velika Baba has two summits and before we come on the highest point we reach the first summit and then the highest one. The view is magnificent.

We descend by the same route but more comfortable and beautiful is descend by Kranjska koca na Ledinah (hut) and over the SE ridge back on Jezersko. (see the description of the route for more details).

Essential Gear

Good hiking shoes and rope for not good climbers.
