| This was a nice hour and half hike to the summit. The views where amazing. Tried to get my dog to go up the stairs but she freaked out. The stairs are steep. | |

| Ran the trail from Packer Lake, avoided the stairs and took the rocks up to the look out. For some reason I thought the structure was going to fall off at any moment. | |

| Snow conditions varied my opinion from that of Bob. The approach from Bassetts is scenic, though--this is a pretty good-looking peak, especially for this part of the Sierra. | |

| A day hike up a fire trail on the South slope. A variation on the descent lead to some bushwacking, a slide down a rocky gully and an encounter with a homeowners Rottwieller(sp?). I emerged out of the brush on highway 49 near downtown Downieville and had a 2-3 mile hike back to my car. All was cool though. | |

| HIked with Christine Beck and Steve Soich up the access road as the snow was still quite deep, and the road wasn't open. The snow near the top was in excess of 4 feet deep. We saw no tourists up there, and that lookout is perched in a precarious position. The best views in the vicinity. | |
