| This was a nice steep short trail to the top of a peak with sweeping views in every direction. It was amazing how clear the skies were considering that Colorado Springs was socked in and cold for a mid May day. | ||

| Nicely constructed trail. Left a summit register under the highest rock on the summit. Funny that it is called a butte when clearly it isn't. | ||

| We had a fantastic day. Sunny and nice - not too hot, not too cold. The trail started incredibly smooth and easy. Then we wound around to the north side and deep, steep slow prompted us to bushwack, instead. This was little challenging with three leashed dogs, needless to say. The summit views are great. I didn't expect to see so much of the Sangre de Cristos. The post-fire brush growing through the ashes is pretty rought/full of stickers. I definitely recommend long pants or gaters if you're off-trailing to the summit. While the trail is short, the dirt-road approach (especially in the early season, when the road offers deep snow obstacles and huge puddles) provides a little dose of adventure in and of itself. (I'm sure this wouldn't be the case under dry summer conditions.) Hiking partner: Husband. Dogs: Lady, Bing & Lela. | ||

| Did Signal after a long day of Teller & Douglas county summits including 9514, Hackett, Cedar, Turkey Rock, and Sheep Nose. Nicely built trail. Weather was spotty today, so I didn't get the views of Pikes I was looking for. I'll have to come back! | ||

| Great hike on a Sunday afternoon with the dog. Great trail; even with a few inches of snow I had no problem seeing the trail. I can't wait to come back when it is warmer and do some real climbing on the south side. | ||

| Took the fam and some of my kids' friends up for a picnic at Signal Butte on the last day of summer. Other than it being very windy, it was a gorgeous day! After lunch, took a couple of kids up the side (Class 2+) of the mountain. Met a couple of folks on 4-wheelers on the way down. | ||

| BeginnerClimber | Beautiful Day!!! ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 13, 2007 | |
| What a beautiful day, and not a soul around. Unfortunately, NOT A SINGLE ROAD after CR-51 was signed, so I had to follow my trail map very closely. For the longest time, wasn't sure I was on the right road until Signal Butte appeared through the trees. Drove my old 87 Acura hatchback up the road, and while it never bottomed out, I couldn't go more than about 15 mph because I had to drive around the pot holes. Anyway, it was a great little hike. Up and down in 45 minutes. Recommend to all, and it's a great spot in the middle of nowhere to have a picnic! | ||

| Took my wife along this time after work on a Friday. Caught the end of the fall colors. Clear sky this time created a much different perspective. The Butte cast a nice shadow with the setting sun. | ||

| Did this one after work on a Friday. Great views from the summit of a portion of the Pike National Forest that is often overlooked. This area is really going to be striking in 5-10 years when all the young aspen on the slopes mature. They were in full yellow/gold mode today. | ||

| Cool little mountain and a great short hike. Did it on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with my son and our dog, Grace, who broke trail for us through the remaining patches of snow. Had the summit to ourselves with great views of Pikes Peak and surrounding hills, including the distant Sangre de Cristos. | ||
