| After having been turned back by waist deep snow on the NE slope of this trail the previous winter, we went back in the summer. We were up and off the peak early enough to (a) see jackalopes (they do exist!), (b) see three rattlers right on the trail, and (c) safely avoid storms. This is a great climb and generally avoids the Tucson crowds. | |

| I only had one day to hike in the range since we were on our way back to New Mexico from a California road trip. So I decided to hike Silver Peak instead of Chiricahua per Weeds recco. It was a perfect day on the mountain. Perfectly still air, perfect temp, and great views. The 3,000 vertical gain/loss was a bit rough on me, but well worth it. | |

| Combined with a caving trip in Cave Creek Canyon. This area is amazing! It's like a miniature, more arid Yosemite, but without the people. Beautiful rock formations! | |

| I hiked through snow the day before while climbing Chiricahua so this was a great cool down. The views and hike are quite nice and I would recommend this hike over a hike to Chiricahua! | ||
