Similaun summit w/ cross seen from the normal route. The glacier part of the route ends at the right-hand corner of the picture, where most people take their ice gear off and begin the final assault on the easy rocky section.

Similaun is great

Your photograph brought back memory of days long past now. Although here in China I have an unimaginable richness of mountains at hand, pictures like this sometimes makes me regret that i am now no longer in the position to climb in the Alps, the mountains of my youth.
