2011  Sucess!

I wandered up here one day from Siyeh Pass. I ended up descending to the south and then finding an off trail route over to Otokomi Lake, which was very interesting and scenic.

Beautiful fall day  Sucess!

Nice hike. We're surprised at the amount of snow on the pass. Good views of the upper reaches of the fire.

West Ridge  Sucess!

Climbed with Moni on a beautiful fall day. Tried to stay on the ridge crest as much as possible which resulted in getting cliffed out and having to backtrack and down climb in a couple of places. A really fantastic view point!

almost!

Hiked most of the way up to the point on my first trip to GNP in 2007. I remember arriving at Siyeh Pass and noticed that it looked possible to wander out on the ridge a ways. My girlfriend hunkered down for a rest at the pass and I hustled up the ridge. I believe I came up a tad short of Point 8490; I came to a drop off on the ridge and being unfamiliar with scrambling in the park opted to turn around. Old photos show that I stopped at the little prominent nub on the ridge just right of the summit in several of this page's photos. Nonetheless, the view north to the beautiful tarns at the head of the Boulder Creek drainage was utterly inspiring. I've been hooked on Glacier ever since!

A Great Capper to a Great Hike  Sucess!

Many thanks Bob for introducing me to this mountain. After the beatiful hike to Siyeh Pass this was a perfect topper - a great and sporty (for me) scramble. The hike down to Sunrift makes this our top day in Glacier.
