Skogafoss

The waterfall Skógafoss is situated in the south of Iceland on the cliffs of a former coastline. After the coastline had advanced to its present position (it is now at a distance of about 5 km from Skógar), the cliffs remained running parallel to the coast for hundreds of kilometers, creating together with some mountains a clear border between the Lowlands and the Highlands of Iceland (August 2005).
