CW (my hiking partner / navigator / map reader) and I started in the Woodland Valley Camp ground parking area (trailhead is found across the road, between two campsites (#46 & 47) and over the bridge - Red blazes) A small fee is charged to use the parking lot.
From there we followed the trail up Wittenberg (2,580 ft.) with great vistas overlooking Ashokan Reservoir. Then over Cornell (3,860 ft)
Nice long hike (10:15 AM - 6:35 PM) with steep ascents and the challenge of several ledges.
Instead of following the WCS Trail, we did a loop bringing us back to the parking area. (red to yellow)

Alot of blow down on the trails but the conditions were otherwise excellent.
