Smokies coyote

A coyote pops out in the open on a mild winter day in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Photo taken February 3 on the Appalachian Trail near Newfound Gap. I see coyotes throughout the year in the Appalachians, but have never had an opportunity to get a good photo of one.
