Snake Dike
Half Dome: Snake Dike. Me leading one of the Dike pitches. I suppose the rope is a good idea, but I didn't need those pitons dangling from a sling -- nor were helmets and harnesses in fashion.

Those were new PAs then, which I still have.

It looks steep but it isn't. On the other hand, look out for that protection: if you find some, let me know. Summer, 1970. Photo Jim Hoagland.
