Snow-Covered Rubble

Snow-Covered Rubble

Andy, Charles, and Jeff on one of the steeper sections of the Villa Ridge of Drift Peak. The angle is moderate, but the talus is quite unstable and the snow was unconsolidated: Hard work! If you watch closely, you can see Nelson hidden in front of Charles. Tenmile Range, Colorado, December 2006.

I take exception to that statement

You have captured possibly the only moment all day that I was in front of Charles. :-}

Re: I take exception to that statement

I've changed the caption, though, in two of the pictures I submitted today you are in front of Charles. And I'm also ahead of him in two out of four. But, that's only because he stopped to retie his boots. That's what distinguishes the great photographer: Capturing that elusive moment. :-)

Indeed, Cartier-Bresson would have no doubt waited until I was in front, realizing a rare decisive moment had arrived.

I must be a cheap replica of a Cartier, then: The ones you get on the internet.
