Species...

This must be a Geranium species. There are many of those and I'm not sure about it, but my best guess is Geranium lanuginosum, a rare and protected species endemic to the south of France.

I think you're right, the flower should be the Geranium lanoginosum. Recognizing the flowers is sometimes very difficult when you are going off-road from the most common species. And sometimes, even when you think you've recognized a flower, you discover that there are several variations within the same species. Perhaps there is an information on which I have some doubts: whether it's an endemic species of southern France... I checked and it seems to me that this flower may be present in all the countries of the Mediterranean basin.
