South face of Mt Hood

South face of Mt Hood, April 9, 2005. The Palmer ski lift can be seen on the left side of the photo, along with Illumination Rock. Crater Rock is the large cone in the left center of the crater. Devil's Kitchen is the dark hole just to the right of it, near the shadow's edge. Steel Cliff is on the right. The Hogsback is the snow ridge in the center of the crater that leads up through the Pearly Gates towards the summit. In recent years the Hogsback has shifted towards the West and most people now traverse off the Hogsback down into the crater and climb the Old Chute which appears to the left of the Hogsback.

I like small trees on the slope.Is there a cable car on the leftside?

Yes, as you can see from this photo, there is a chair lift that you can take half way to the summit.

But it has claimed the lives of over 130 climbers.

yes, it is a beautiful mountain....when the weather is nice.
